I went out to a ramen shop and an izakaya bar for day drinking in the town called Harinakano in Osaka. Typical Osaka nibbles such as Kushikatsu, deep-fried food on a stick, and tempura were great and delicious.

Hi, this is Waka Ossann from Osaka. Today, I had a plan to catch up with my old friend who came back from Tokyo. It was several months ago since we saw each other, so we decided to meet over day drinks in Harinakano.

What a very luxurious way to spend my day off!

We ate ramen at ‘Yushou’ before drinking!

First, we needed to eat something before drinking, so we went to ‘Yushou’, the most popular ramen shop in Harinakano area. This shop is quite famous, but it was my very first visit.

I’d been curious about it since I read some posts on Yushou written by another popular blogger that I follow! How exciting!

We arrived there around lunchtime, but somehow, it wasn’t busy.

Actually, it was quite natural. There was a typhoon heading our way on that day! We were kind of the only people hanging out to drink. lol

Here is the menu. We ordered bottled beer, gyoza for two, regular ramen and ramen with sliced pork.

Cheers! They served daikon radish kimchi as our nibbles.

Gyoza was so delicious!

It was tasty and garlicky and the stuffing was rich in flavor.

This is what I ordered, ramen with sliced pork.

There was plenty of pork on top, and somehow there was a nostalgic feeling about it.

This ramen is for my friend. You can see spring onions, bean sprouts and sliced pork on top.

The soup was made with pork and chicken broth, but it didn’t have any bad smells. It was like ramen in the light soup.

The noodles were ordinary, but the combination of the noodles and the pork and chicken soup was good and very tasty.

Most of all, pork slices were considerably thick. There wasn’t much fat, but it had a great chewing texture. The combination with the soup is superb.

This shop has been open since 1994, and there are quite a lot of fans not only from the local area but also elsewhere. This is not surprising when you taste how good their ramen is. Unlike the trendy ramen these days, the ramen here is classic that makes you feel nostalgic.

It was ¥2480 in total for two including the beer and other bits.

Let’s go day drinking! To the bar ‘Ebisuya’!

After enjoying the ramen, it’s finally the time to go day drinking!

We headed to a bar called ‘Ebisuya’, which is also in Harinakano and stands on the other side of Kintetsu Minami Osaka Line.

It’s across from a Pachinko parlor and it seems to be a convenient location for an all day bar.

It even says ‘open for day drinking’! lol

I got excited with the atmosphere of a reasonable casual bar that welcomes everyone.

We ordered a lime chūhai for me and beer for my friend to begin with.

It’s nice to have a drink at a counter during the day.

The menu for alcoholic beverages has a list of reasonable drinks, ranging approximately from ¥290 to ¥390.

It was surprising seeing a great selection on the food menu! The dishes were also between ¥300 and ¥500, which were affordable again.

So, we ordered Kushikatsu. It was delicious eating piping hot ones.

This is the way you enjoy Izakaya style - you order, the food arrives at the table and you dig in.

Next, we ate chicken tempura. It was an ordinary tempura with a dipping sauce, but it was very tasty.

We had salt grilled chicken for our last dish. It was a bit tough first, but it became tastier as you chew!

There was a harmony of a chewy texture and a juicy flavor.

We were there for about 1 hour, but the total was only ¥3510 for two. It was cheap but filling, and totally made us happy!

It was like a typical unrefined day drinking course for local mid-aged men, but totally recommend these 2 places if you’d like to have a blast in the day in Harinakano.
