Adventure at Tokyo One Piece Tower (part 1)

ONE PIECE is a very popular manga comic book not only in Japan but around the world! Tokyo Tower proudly opened a theme park based on the world of ONE PIECE in 2015 at the bottom of the tower. This is the first half of the blog introducing the fun and entertaining park.

Hi everyone! We heard that there’s a big new theme park about “One Piece” in Tokyo Tower, one of the most important sightseeing spots in Tokyo. Of coruse we had to go.

It is the Tokyo One Piece Tower!

To our surprise, the author of One Piece, Eiichiro Oda, was included in this theme park project, so of course our expectation are high, right?

Tokyo One Piece Tower is located in the 3rd to 5th floors inside Foot Town (the entertainment complex at the bottom of Tokyo Tower).

One Piece Tower’s Ticket and Fee

To enter One Piece Tower, it is 3200 yen per person (there’s a seperate kids fare). If you buy a ticket for the Tokyo Tower Observatory along with your purchase, they will deduct 200 yen from the amount, so it is a good idea to buy both together!

Tickets are sold at the ticket center on the 1st floor (near the entrance), or you can buy them in advance. If you want to know more about advance tickets, please check out their official website.

If you are planning to go during weekends or holidays, during which Tokyo Tower gets super crowded, it is easier for you to buy tickets in advance. It’s such a waste to wait in line for just to buy your tickets!

Once you get your tickets, go to the 3rd floor where the reception is! You can use either stairs or the elevator.

Enter the Tokyo One Piece Tower!

As soon as we got to the 3rd floor, we immediately found this photo booth where you can take a picture with Luffy, Chopper, and Tokyo Tower! We took one standing between the two characters!

When you show your ticket to a staff member at the counter, she will exchange it for an entrance ticket and a guide map.

We are finally going inside! We are getting excited!!

Look back at the great scenes of One Piece at the “Meeting Cave”

This exhibition might move fans to tears, as it shows many great scenes in One Piece, and how all the crewmates met each other over time. Just walking by this section will make you excited: “Awww I remember this!”

In front of each display, you will find footprints on the floor. Place your feet inside them.

Then guess what happens? Actually, we will recommend that you go and see with your own eyes, but let us tell you this: each scene has many interesting tricks to wow you.

There are also beautiful colored artwork on display. Take as much as time you want and enjoy them.

After we passed through this section, the Thousand Sunny was waiting for us!

Let’s take lots of pictures at the “Tongari Point!”

After you pass through the “Meeting Cave,” you will arrive at a section called Tongari Point.

Here, we saw a story of how Mr. Oda, the author of One Piece, came up with the idea of Tokyo One Piece Tower as well as the gigantic original colored illustrations.

And in the back of “Tongari Port,” the Luffy’s Pirares are having a big party!
This might be the only place where you can see the sexy Nami in life-size!

It is great to see these two fighting like always.

There were many people who were taking pictures with the Luffy’s pirates in this area.
You can ask the staff to take a picture for you, so go for it!

Become your favorite character at the “Transformation Corner”

Here you can rent costumes of the popular characters like Luffy, Zoro, and Law. There are many people in the tower already doing this, so don’t be embarassed and let’s join them!

They were selling hats as souvenirs.

Take a good look at this Luffy straw hat! There’s even a mark where Nami sewed it!

There were alos Ace and Sabo hats!

Once you are fully prepared at the “Transformation Corner”, let’s go up to the 4th floor.

On both the 4th and 5th floors, there are attractions where you can play with One Piece characters. We are introducing them one by one!

First of all, let’s talk about the Nami’s casino house (she likes treasure)!

We found real casino games like roulette and horse racing. Nami will guide you through the game.

Join this game by using these four colored buttons. There might be a prize for those who had the most correct answers!?

“Usopp’s ROAD to SOGEKING”

This is the Usopp’s pachinko game. You might get addicted if you’re a guy!

Knock down the marines that keep showing up using the pachinko machine!
If you could knock down all the marines in time, there is a big prize♪

We personally enjoyed this attarction the most! This is a true hands-on game.

We take this “den den mushi ringtone” as we walk around the facility to find poneglife.

Poneglife is drawn in many places quietly.

Once you find it, use your “den den mushi ringtone” to collect it. The game’s goal is to find a certain number of poneglife within the time limit. The more poneglife you collect, the higher score you get.

This time limit was actually pretty strict, so we were running around the area by the second half of the game. (lol) We felt like we were kids again, searching for treasure. It was so much fun!

Anyway, we have many more attractions to go! Please read the Part 2 of this article for the conclusion.
