Kodaiji temple

Kodaiji Temple in Kyoto was built in honor of Hideyoshi Toyotomi, a famous samurai, by his grieving wife Nene. The temple has beautiful trees in the garden and it gets very popular especially in autumn due to its night illumination. Trees are reflected in the pond, and it is breathtaking! Depending on the season, they change the color and shape of the lights. You can enjoy various kinds of exhibitions at the Sho Museum attached to the temple. After you satisfy your eyes at Kodaiji, enjoy traditional Kyoto meals at nearby restaurants like the famous Doi and Wakuden. It looks like it is close to Kyoto Station on the map, but Kodaiji is a bit far from the station, so you may need to transfer to another mode of transportation such as a cab.
